For Sale: 2007 St. Francis 50 Catamaran – Upgraded & Adventure-Ready

2007 St. Francis 50 Bluewater Cruising Catamaran with Upgrades
$650,000 USD

After three years, tens of thousands of miles and lots of adventures made possible by our St Francis 50, we’re (somewhat reluctantly) ready to return to land! Our boat is for sale and available starting in May in the Bahamas or anywhere along the US East Coast. The vessel is Canadian-flagged, but duty-paid in New Zealand. We would consider delivery of the boat to Europe or Fiji, under certain conditions.

It would be the perfect vessel for a couple or family who would like to spend time sailing the Caribbean and the Pacific. We have sailed Atlas across both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans over the the last three years, from New Zealand through Southeast Asia to Africa to the Caribbean and can attest to how well a St. Francis does offshore and how liveable it is on anchor.

Atlas has everything one would require to live off grid for months on end. A large capacity LiFePO4 battery bank with 2.1kw of solar. A generator and two wind generators for those cloudy weeks. A high capacity 150lph water maker. A full-size Fisher Paykel washing machine. A huge 115L freezer, two refrigerators, massive amounts of storage, a large dinghy allowing extended adventures or load carrying capacity, dive compressor for diving enthusiasts, and room for all of your toys and tools.

About the St. Francis 50

Atlas is a 4-cabin, 3 head, galley-down version, of the renowned St Francis 50 bluewater cruising catamarans. St Francis is known for their high-quality, semi-custom builds. A testament to the winning design and reputation is that St Francis continues to build the St Francis 50 (now the 500) 20 years after the first SF50 was launched—using the same hull mold for every one. If you’re looking to cross oceans in a safe, efficient, luxurious catamaran, this is the design you want.

All SF50s are built to CE Category A (Ocean) Rating, using epoxy resin infusion and Corecell foam core, ensuring a strong and lightweight hull. The interiors are all custom built, with Atlas being done in a beautiful cherry wood, which was completely refinished in 2019.

We purchased Atlas in 2022 and have since sailed 25,000 miles with our two young boys. We purchased a St Francis 50 because of the high build quality, purposeful design for living aboard and passage making, and the safe cockpit design and helm station. We love the huge amounts of fuel (880L) and water (1350L) tankage, and the massive amount of storage. The engines and sail drives (new in 2020) are set much further forward than most catamarans and the bows are mostly empty, keeping the weight centered and ends light. The 50’ of waterline length makes for fast and comfortable passages.

Atlas’ Features & Upgrades

Atlas has twin 54 hp Yanmar (4J5HE) engines (non-Common Rail, 2020, ~1300 hours per engine), Yanmar SD-60 sail drives (2020) with 3-blade Flexofold props (2023), Westerbeke 7.5 kW generator, Bauer Junior dive compressor, A/C units for port and starboard hulls, Ebershacher diesel heater, 2100 watts of solar (new 2024), 1200 AH (@12v) of LiFePO4 batteries (new 2024), 12′ Noah dinghy and 15 hp Yamaha 2-stroke outboard engine (2019). The sail plan and rig are powerful, robust and flexible.

Please check out the photos and upgrades we’ve done over the last couple of years. If you scroll down past the pictures, you’ll find a complete, detailed listing of the vessel with all the updates and specifications. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing of Atlas, you can email hills.atlas@gmail.com. More photos, videos and a full specification list can be provided upon request.

We will be to the Bahamas by early to mid-May, but will adjust our schedule accordingly to accommodate a serious buyer. We can also arrange a video walk-through. Not for sale to US Residents while in US Waters.
